What we look for
Being a native speaker is not a qualification, and we do not treat it as one.
The bar is evidence that you can teach: a recognised teaching qualification, a relevant degree, or documented experience with learners at the level you want to take. Examiner experience for any of the major exams is the strongest single signal on an application.
We also look for a specific answer to who you teach best. Tutors who name their learner — a nervous intermediate, a professional preparing for interviews, a candidate who needs half a band in six weeks — do markedly better than those who list every level from A1 to C2.
You will need a reliable connection, a quiet space, a working camera and a decent microphone. Audio quality affects lesson outcomes more than video does.

Tell us which languages you teach, your qualifications, and the learners you are best with. Ten minutes, and no video required at this stage.

Verification
We check qualifications and identity. Usually a few working days. If something is missing you are told exactly what, rather than just rejected.

Build your profile
Set your rate, your availability and your cancellation window, then record a short introduction. The video matters more than anything else on the page.

Take your first booking
New profiles are surfaced to learners searching your language and level. Most tutors see their first trial booking within the first fortnight.
